Hello Polar Scientists!
Welcome to the 2006 Antarctic expedition!
Last year's expedition and Polar Science Outreach Program was an unconditional success and we look forward to another great year.
This year we have expanded to include an Ice Team and Lab Team led by Dr. Kanatous and myself (Dr. Hawke), respectively. We will be performing sample analysis here at York University from tissues collected during last year's expedition, while the Ice Team will be collecting more samples and doing some analysis on the samples they collect while they are there. By following our weekly updates and our blogs, you (the readers) will gain a full appreciation for the scientific process from sample collection to novel scientific discovery! (All in Real-Time!)
The Lab Team and the Ice Team will be in constant communication and will be using the Blog page to do so. This will allow you to follow along each step of the way!
Look for our Blogs to each other as they will have the headings "To the Ice team from the Lab team" and "To the Lab team from the Ice team".
I hope each of you has a great experience and tries to learn as much as you possibly can!
On your marks, get set.....DISCOVER!
Dr. Hawke
